About the event

This PL session, presented by experienced Home Ec teachers Noelene Matthews and Kirsten Romany, is designed to assist teachers with the implementation of the W.A. Technologies Syllabus in their schools. Attendees will leave confident that they know how to adapt and/or develop programmes for implementation in their own classrooms.

Presenters: Noelene Matthews and Kirsten Romany

Noelene is an experienced teacher who will share with participants the innovative Year 10 Textiles programme and assessment task that she is teaching at Shenton College. Noelene was part of a small working group that developed teaching materials for SCSA, some of which are now on their website. Kirsten is the Head of Technologies Learning Area at Como Secondary College. She was involved in the development of the WA Curriculum for Design Technologies and has previously delivered professional learning sessions to teachers. Kirsten will explain the modifications she and her team made to their teaching programmes and assessments in order to align them with the current curriculum needs.
