Assessment Task Review

Is pleased to be able to offer a professional learning opportunity for teachers of

Food Science &Technology on

Assessment task review.

This two hour workshop will be led by Jen Wheatley, Principal Consultant, School Curriculum and Standards Authority.

Now is the time to reflect on current assessment practices for the course. Are each of the assessments worth doing and can you justify the tasks to your students? In planning or modifying assessments for next year, what considerations are required when constructing an assessment task and the marking key?

During this session we will ensure the assessment questions relate to both the learning context and the content as described in the syllabus. We will review the length and the number of related questions, and ensure that the questions are clear and unambiguous. If it is not possible to formulate different questions and the marking key, it may be that the content is not suited to the assessment.

This session aims to build confidence in your ability to develop/modify and use quality assessment tasks and marking keys relevant to this course. You should also be confident in your ability to use the Grade Descriptions across the range of assessment types in the syllabus.

Attendees are required to bring to the session three copies of one assessment task and marking key they have developed or modified for either Year 11 or Year 12, General or ATAR course.
