Marilyn Yates Prize Winner

At the World Home Economics Day sundowner, the Marilyn Yates Academic Prize for 2017 was presented by Marilyn herself to Jasmine Stone This award recognises the student who completes the Bachelor of Education (Home Economics) qualification within four years and has the highest academic score.

Jasmine graduated at the end of 2017 with a major in Home Economics and a minor in Mathematics She achieved an enviable academic record with an outstanding course mark of 80.96%. Her academic achievements can be attributed to her strong sense of purpose and it is not surprising that she was awarded an O’Malley scholarship for her final year of study. Jasmine completed her ATP at Carey Baptist College and is now a full time teacher there.
