Marilyn Yates Prize Winner

Jasmine Stone, winner of the 2018 Marilyn Yates prize 2018. At the World Home Economics Day sundowner, the Marilyn Yates Academic Prize for 2017 was presented by Marilyn herself to Jasmine Stone This award recognises the student who completes the Bachelor of Education (Home Economics) qualification within four years and has the highest academic score. Jasmine graduated at the end of 2017 with a major in Home Economics and a minor in Mathematics She achieved an enviable academic record with an outstanding course mark of 80.96%. Colour it your way: Silk scarf workshop

On Tuesday the 6th of March at ECU a workshop was presented by the wonderful and experienced Gill Treichel and focused on effective and creative ways to colour fabric. During the workshop Gill demonstrated techniques in dying silk scarves using water based dyes, creating artworks using crayons to decorate different fabrics, and working with other mediums that allow the transfer of pictures onto fabrics.
